Sketch has been the sole development team creating a single platform that is being leveraged by this company’s many brokerages to quickly analyze and aggregate data that is integral when assessing and distributing risk. This platform addresses many challenges including Carrier Evaluations, Claims Mgmt, Coverage Negotiation, Policy Evaluation, among several other brokerage challenges. Technology for this product includes several data integration connections as well as automated data ingestion to ensure the platform is providing real-time information to users.
The client had many resources from different sources that need to be pooled together to make appropriate risk assessments before offering policies at specified prices. They wanted a custom, lowcost, reliable solution to bring all the pertinent data together enabling their risk managers to come up with accurate quotes faster than their competitors. Oh, and they have no internal IT department of their own to manage or maintain any infrastructure!
AWS to the rescue! Sketch designed, architected, and built both the infrastructure and software application for them. We leveraged many of AWS’ managed services including ElasticBeanstalk, RDS for MySQL, S3 for data storage, and Lambda for low-cost, event-driven computations, all of which help offload any maintenance or management burdens negating the fact that they don’t have their own IT.
By having developers knowledgeable in AWS, the development of the software solution provided the client with a cloud-native application that was highly resilient, fault-tolerant, secure, and performant. We were able to leverage the flexibility and scalability of AWS to enable faster deployment cycles while building the software solution to get optimal client feedback and build them the exact solution they needed.
The client has an application that’s been running in a production environment for six months without any downtime, Sketch leveraged SAML integration with Office365 and AWS’ Cognito so the client could leverage single-sign-on without extra burden of user management, and ElasticBeanstalk and RDS have been performing automated updates, patching, and backups so the client doesn’t have to hire any extra FTEs to maintain the solution.
